At the board meeting in April, Bill Kirk was elected as the vice president of the HDNA. Bill has been a very dedicated member of HDNA and we are pleased to add him to our board.

HDNA will hold it's monthly board meeting Monday, May 11. The meeting will be held at Heartside Ministries 54 S. Division at 5:30 P.M. Anyone is welcome to attend and agenda items can be submitted for consideration at our website grhdna@gmail.com.

BOARD MEETING APRIL 13 @ 5:30

Be advised our monthly board meeting will take place Monday, April 13 2009 @ Heartside Ministries 54 S. Division at 5:30 P.M. There is one general board seat to be filled and several changes to be made with regard to committee positions. If you are interested in a board seat please attend the meeting and feel free to nominate yourself. You must live, work, or worship in the Heartside Downtown Community and be willing to commit to several hours per month. Complete guidelines will be given upon request. As always, everyone is welcome to attend.

ANNUAL CLEAN SWEEP

HDNA in co-operation with Aquinas College C.A.V.A Program will hold our annual Clean Sweep program on April 25, 2009. This is HDNA's main fundraising event each year. We are currently accepting donations and for a minimum $50 donors get their company name on the T-shirt that participants wear that day and beyond. OPEN BOARD SEAT

We were sorry to accept Pam Petr's resignation as secretary. This leaves a board seat open. If you are interested in a general board seat or filling the secretarial or vice president positions please contact us via e-mail @ grhdna@gmail.com to be nominated. The board will be voting on April 13th at 5:30 at Heartside Ministries, 54 S. Division, please attend to be eligible for a board seat.

At our general meeting March 16, we were so pleased to have 2 representatives from the Red Cross:as well as a presentation by Clean Works. We also appreciated firefighter Dave Marchianda stopping by to introduce himself.

WELCOME FIREFIGHTER DAVE MARCHIANDA TO HDNA

Monday March 16, 2009 firefighter Dave Marchianda plans to attend the HDNA general meeting. Firefighter Marchianda will be partnering with HDNA as a laison between the fire dep't. and our neighborhood. Come out and join us in welcoming him and showing our enthusiasm and appreciation for firefighters in our community.

We are pleased to announce an informational presentation by "Clean Works" at our March 16 general meeting. Come out to Heartside Ministry 54 S. Division at 5 o'clock and learn more about the services offered by "Clean Works"

Voting January 19th!

On January 19th the HDNA will be electing a new board to oversee the 2009 programming year.
Anyone is invited to come and participating in the vote.
A complete list of candidates was posted on December 9th and updated on January 14th. Please note: write in candidates are still eligible. Anyone who would like to be considered as a write in candidate please attend the meeting on January 19th.

1. Post copy of the ballot, the HDNA Chart and board position descriptions.

4. Review mission-Pat Agosto-The HDNA mission is to promote resident empowerment and work to create and protect a community environment that enhances quality of life for all.

5. Present the HDNA board requirements and trainings/ opportunities-Jenn

6. Review HDNA election procedures-Jenn
1. Voters each receive ONE ballot, each voter must sign their name and contact information to the ballot
2. Anyone is allowed to Vote
3. Each nominee will speak for 1-2 minutes
4. Nominees will speak alphabetically
5. One of the current board members will appoint a timekeeper to monitor speaking times.
6. If a nominee is sick they can appoint a representative to come and speak for them
7. At the end of voting time 3 volunteers will count the ballots and tally up election results
8. Votes will be counted the night of the election and results will be posted the following day
